The 3M™ General Purpose PTFE Skived Film Tape 5180 is designed to wrap rollers in manufacturing processes to create a release surface that protects work surfaces and minimizes clean-up. This product is conformable and offers excellent temperature and chemical resistance.
Our 3M™ General Purpose PTFE Skived Film Tape 5180 is a 3.5 mil gray PTFE skived film tape that has a long-lasting, high-strength silicone adhesive to wrap rollers used in manufacturing processes. Additionally, the tape’s materials make this silicone adhesive ideal for use across a broad temperature range – from -65°F (-54°C) to 500°F (260°C). Recommended Applications Wrapping rubber laminating rollers Chemical resistant surface for sealing or masking Sound management and noise reduction When it comes to wrapping rollers used in the manufacturing process, one of the main goals is to increase efficiency and throughput. Our 3M™ General Purpose PTFE Skived Film Tape 5180 helps users achieve this goal because of its anti-stick properties, which helps reduce friction – contributing to improvements in the manufacturing process. With squeak and rattle prevention, users have a product that also delivers sound management. Simplified Clean Up It is easy to forget that a tape’s performance should be judged not just on its adhesion, but also on how it removes from work surfaces. With the 3M™ General Purpose PTFE Skived Film Tape 5180, cleanup is simple. It’s common for inks and sticky materials to build up on rollers, plates and belts that see heavy use in the production process. Use of our tape can cut down on the mess. Our easy-off tape means that the tape removes cleanly in one piece without leaving behind tape fragments or unwanted adhesive residue.
